Intestinal FAQs

AliVet "Intestinal Diet" is a complete dietary food specially developed for dogs with acute intestinal absorption disorders. The menus help to alleviate absorption disorders, to rebuild the intestinal flora and compensate for fluid and electrolyte losses. They are mainly for use with dogs suffering from digestive problems such as vomiting and diarrhoea, or inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. The dietary fibres of cellulose, psyllium husks and linseed help to reduce diarrhoea and rebalance the intestinal flora.
The diet menus are grain-free and contain muscle meat as well as lean heart and stomach meat that is 100% human-grade quality. Easily digestible vegetables and fruit provide vitamins, minerals, fibre and trace elements without overloading the digestive tract.
Herbs such as camomile, aniseed and caraway are known to have a calming effect on the stomach and intestines, while cellulose, linseed and psyllium husks can promote a healthy digestive tract. MCT oil provides quickly available energy.
The menus are suitable for acute intestinal absorption disorders and chronic inflammatory diseases such as IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease). The diet menus serve a therapeutic function and they should always be used in accordance with the vet’s guidance.
The menus support the digestive tract, provide high-quality amino acids and nutrients, nurture healthy intestinal flora and stabilise the electrolyte and fluid balance. They provide optimum nutritional support for regenerating the digestive system, while the dog continues to receive all the energy and nutrients it needs.
